TRIP TO MASSACHUSETTS

I took the kids to see their grandparents for a couple of days since it's their school vacation.  We had a blast.  What a lot of work to bring Ben and all of his stuff.  And I had a lot of help.  I was really hoping to bring him to the Microcephaly Conference in June, but think that it's best to leave him home.  Traveling is so exhausting and I think doing it by myself will be too much.  I have always traveled with Ben alone, but never on a vent.  I think I would be doing us both a favor by leaving him home.  BUT...I still may go by myself.  I'll know in a week or two for sure.  You can see that I'm still treating his hands and feet.  I have to keep them powdered (with a nystatin powder) and wrapped,  and I change his gauze often.  If they aren't getting better by Tuesday, they'll treat him systemically with an antibiotic to help get rid of the yeast/fungus.  Otherwise, he's doing great.

Have fun. Sure hope Ben's fungal infection gets better soon. Great picture of your sweet boy.

Glad to hear he's doing well, besides the fungal thing.....hope that clears up soon! Getting away is always a refreshing thing to do, even with all the extra work of packing for our kiddos! Hope you can go to the conference! Hugs!!

Glad Ben is doing better and that you had a chance to visit family for a few days. I think you are very wise in leaving him home. You seem to run into too many problems when traveling with him, and to keep him out of the hospital is best for both of you and your family. Where is the Conference? I'm sure the support there would be awesome. Hope you have a chance to go.

It is a lot of work to travel with these kiddos, so I understand completely. I will be very sad, however, not to get to meet Ben! I hope you still attend, I would love to meet you and it is SUCH a wealth of support and information!

I hope his hands clear up soon,
