PICU Day 2

I woke up this morning to more respiratory distress coming from Ben. His lungs sounded like a washing machine with a side of wheezing. He spiked a fever last night and this morning. The doctor went up on his vent settings and oxygen to support him more. Ben seemed to respond well to the increased support as he settled down fairly soon after the changes were made. Tomorrow morning he is scheduled for a PICC line placement. Because of his worsened condition, they feel he will have need for a reliable line as this might be a lengthy stay.
BATH DAY! :)
This picture makes me laugh. He hasn't slept much in the last couple of days so he is TIRED. I needed to give him a bath and kept waiting for him to wake up. Since he's refusing to wake up today, I went ahead and decided to bathe him anyway. He was sound asleep through the whole bath, silly boy.

Sleeping bath... so cute!
Reminds me of that terrifying time I WOKE UP to being scrubbed in a foreign shower. NOT an average experience.
Kisses, Ben.

Love this picture of sweet Benny! So glad he is finally comfy enough to actually sleep. We got balloons too. I wonder if it was the same friend. Isn't it nice how they brighten things up? Loves.

Love the sleepy bath picture...Cute!

I have that exact same blow up basin for Jophie. I also bought this bag you fill with warm water. You hang it from an IV pole or anything up higher than the bed. There is a hose attached with a shower head on the end! It's just like getting a shower in bed! He LOVES for us to wash his hair with it..

Praying for a smoooooth line placement and speeeeedy recovery!

Hi Benji--So sorry you are back in the hospital again. A week ago you were thoroughly enjoying the NASCAR races and this weekend you are in the hospital. Please get well soon. We love you bunches.
